Rocking a soulful natural look, with a six-person band alongside her, sitting comfortably on a couch with her acoustic guitar, Lauryn Hill performed back-to-back shows at New York City’s Blue Note Jazz Club on Wednesday, February 20, 2015.
Most of the songs Hill performed were from her 2012 MTV Unplugged No. 2.0 album.

Rolling Stone posted the above photo to Instagram with the caption: “I was excited when I was told that I would have the opportunity to photograph Lauryn Hill perform during her current tour in small venues. It was a very intimate show, at the Blue Note jazz club in Greenwich Village, and despite her arriving around 9:30 for an 8:00 show, her fans were overjoyed when she hit the stage. The only restriction management gave me was I could shoot from anywhere but I couldn’t block anyone’s view of the performance. The club was extremely packed, and I ended up finding a spot kneeling down in the walkway next to one of the front tables. Somewhere between dodging waitresses with trays full of drinks and trying not to obstruct anyone’s view, I was able to grab this photo.” As told to @RollingStone by photographer @AnthonyCruzPhoto
Hill’s Blue Note double set showed her true artistry as one of hip-hop’s emancipators.
