“When I came out the coma I was behaving erratically and the doctors told my wife, “Ms. Morgan that’s the brain trauma.” “My wife looked at the doctor and said naw, that n*ggar always been crazy.” In Tracy Morgan‘s Netflix Special ‘Staying Alive’ the comedy icon explores his fresh take on life, career and mortality in the wake of surviving a devastating near-fatal traffic collision in 2014.
“When I was in my wheelchair my daughter was 14 months old I got to see her take her first steps. That inspired me to get out my wheelchair and take my first steps. So now me and my daughter walk hand in hand for life cause we learned how to walk at the same time. That’s magic.” Morgan doesn’t shy away from discussing the crash or the injuries he suffered in the special.
“I missed doing this.” Morgan is the latest to join a star-studded lineup of Netflix comedy specials debuting in the coming months from stars such as Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Amy Schumer, Louis C.K., and Jerry Seinfeld.
Directed by Ryan Polito ‘Tracy Morgan: Staying Alive’ shot before a packed house at New Jersey’s landmark Count Basie Theatre, will stream on Netflix Tuesday, May 16, 2017.
