“Rachel my torment.”
“She’s notorious for unbridled extravagance and a limitless appetite. You could lose everything.” “I’m willing to take that risk.” In ‘My Cousin Rachel’ adapted from the 1951 novel by Daphne du Maurier, a young Englishman plots revenge against his mysterious, beautiful cousin, believing that she murdered his guardian. But his feelings become complicated as he finds himself falling for her irresistible charms.
“You’re completely infatuated with your cousin. You realize you could lose everything. Everything.” Directed by Roger Michell from his own script adaptation of Maurier’s novel, ‘My Cousin Rachel’ was previously adapted into a 1952 film starring Olivia de Havilland with Richard Burton, who earned his first of his seven Academy Award acting nominations for his role as Philip Ashley.
“Soon none of this will seem so bad.” The mystery-romance, largely set on a large estate in Cornwall, stars Rachel Weisz, Sam Claflin and Holliday Grainger, ‘My Cousin Rachel’ opens in theaters June 9, 2017.
