And when there are no more leaders to follow you must become one.” ‘Alpha’ is a prehistoric epic adventure of survival set 20,000 years ago during the last Ice Age. The story follows a young man while on his first hunt with his tribe’s most elite group, who is injured and left for dead. Awakening to find himself broken and alone — he must learn to survive and navigate the harsh and unforgiving wilderness.
An enemy will become an ally, a boy will become a warrior, together they must fight to survive. Reluctantly taming a lone wolf abandoned by its pack, the pair learn to rely on each other and become unlikely allies, enduring countless dangers and overwhelming odds in order to find their way home before the deadly winter arrives.
Directed by Albert Hughes from a story he wrote from a screenplay by Dan Wiedenhaupt, starring Kodi Smit-McPhee, Natassia Malthe, Leonor Varela and Jóhannes Haukur Johannesson, ‘Alpha’ has a theater release date of March 9, 2017.
