“As far as I remember I’ve always wished for the end of the world. My name is Juliet, and I survived the apocalypse. You think I’m lucky? You’re wrong.” ‘Hostile’ follows Juliette, a lone survivor of an apocalyptic era who ends up crashing her truck driving around.
Full Synopsis: After a worldwide epidemic, most of the planet’s population is killed. Only a few thousand have survived and are struggling to find food and shelter. But they’re not alone: they have to hide from strange creatures that go hunting at night.
“All that’s left now are memories but sometimes memories can save your life. Because every mistake you make, you make it for a reason.” She wakes up at night fighting to survive against hunger, thirst, a broken leg and strange disturbing creatures that roam the wastelands in the dark and only comes out at nighttime.
“The only thing I learned is life’s a bitch. You think you’ve hit the ground but you’ve just started to fall and the end you only have one choice rise or die.” ‘Hostile’ is the feature directorial debut of French filmmaker Mathieu Turi who wrote the screenplay as well. With a cast that includes Brittany Ashworth, Grégory Fitoussi, Javier Botet , Jay Benedict, and David Gasman, the film has already won “Best Foreign Film” and “Best Makeup FX” at FilmQuest.
‘Hostile’ will screen at the prestigious Sitges International Film Festival October 10 and 11, 2017. The film doesn’t have any official release date, yet.
