“I really like new things, constant newness.” The indie drama ‘Newness’ follows two millennials in Los Angeles as they navigate a social media-driven hookup who quickly fall for each other. They began a relationship that they agree to make open.
“Do you want other people?” “A part of me does.” “If you want to flirt with a girl you can do it.” “The concept of an open relationship is that your exploration with others is not secret.” Their relationship pushes both emotional and physical boundaries.
“I’m not here just for fun. I am in love but may be it’s not enough.” “For love to work you have to actually pursue it.” The romantic drama ‘Newness’ takes a modern look at love and sex. The film is a piercing criticism of the current dating world based on apps and the freedom to hook up with whoever, whenever, without really caring deeply about love.
Directed by Drake Doremus from a screenplay by Ben York Jones starring Nicholas Hoult, Laia Costa, Danny Huston, Courtney Eaton, Matthew Gray Gubler and Albert Hammond Jr. ‘Newness’ had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 25, 2017 and is set to hit iTunes on November 3rd.
