Watch as Annette Bening & Jamie Bell Love just like in the Movies in Paul McGuigan’s ‘Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool’

“You’re the next door guy right?” “That makes you the girl next door.” “I need a partner for my dance class. If I make you a drink you come into my room and hustle with me?” “If you make me a drink I’ll come in and clean your bathroom. Based on a true story of a real life movie romance in 1978 Liverpool ‘Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool’ tells the story of eccentric Academy Award-winning actress Gloria Grahame, focusing on her passionate romance with a much younger actor named Peter Turner.

“That’s Gloria Grahame. Big name in black & white films. Won an Oscar too.” The film is based on Turner’s memoir.

“I spoke to the doctor he’s told me what’s wrong with you.” “Could you take me to Liverpool? I could get better there.” What starts as a vibrant affair between a legendary femme fatale and her young lover quickly grows into a deeper love.

“Peter, you are all I need.” Directed by Paul McGuigan from a screenplay by Matt Greenhalgh with a cast that includes Julie Walters, Vanessa Redgrave, Kenneth Cranham, Stephen Graham, and Frances Barber,‘Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool’ premiered at the Telluride Film Festival this weekend to great reviews. It will play at Tiff next and the London Film Festival, too. The film has a theater release date of November 16, 2017.

About

Entertainment of interest to me is not just a repeat of what you can find elsewhere, but, is inclusive of stories that are not highly publicized as well as ‘old-school’ celebrity news.

I see the glass half-full and strive to be a light in the darkness.
