Suspicion Divides, Greed Seduces & Power Corrupts in Agatha Christie’s Crime Drama ‘Crooked House’ (Trailer) with Glenn Close

“I believe my grandfather was murdered, I believe the killer may still be in the house.” Based on the novel by Agatha Christie,‘Crooked House’ is a mystery crime drama that follows detective Charles Hayward who is invited to solve a gruesome crime where nobody is above suspicion, including Sophia, his client and former lover.

“We’re a very odd family.” In Christie’s twisted tale, the suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a wealthy patriarch is investigated by spy-turned-private-detective Charles Hayward (Max Irons), who is lured by his former lover to catch her grandfather’s murderer before Scotland Yard exposes dark family secrets.

“What are murders like?” “Murders tend to feel that they are above the rules that govern order.” “That description fits every member of this family.” On the sprawling estate, amidst a poisonous atmosphere of bitterness, resentment and jealousy in a truly crooked house, Hayward encounters three generations of the dynasty, including a theater actress (Gillian Anderson), the old man’s widow 50 years his junior (Christina Hendricks), and the family matriarch Lady Edith de Haviland (Glenn Close).

The British mystery is directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner, from a screenplay written by Julian Fellowes based on Agatha Christie’s novel of the same name. ‘Crooked House’ is slated to be released on Digital November 21 and in theaters December 22, 2017.

About

Entertainment of interest to me is not just a repeat of what you can find elsewhere, but, is inclusive of stories that are not highly publicized as well as ‘old-school’ celebrity news.

I see the glass half-full and strive to be a light in the darkness.
