There are Two Kinds of Emergencies in Ryan Murphy’s New Fox Series ‘9-1-1’ With Angela Bassett

“It must be hard being a first responder, did you ever consider a less stressful profession?” “Never.” The procedural drama ‘9-1-1’ series explores the lives and careers of first responders, cops, paramedics and firefighters – the people who put their lives on the line to save others.

“There are two types of emergency, the first kind is the one we all have everyday then there’s the second kind of emergency. The kind that comes without warning.” Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, starring Angela Bassett, the series is based on the real-life, high-pressure experiences of emergency response providers who are thrust into heart-stopping situations that are equal parts unpredictable, intense and uplifting. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives.

“Those moments when you actually save someone, there’s no better feeling in the world.” With a cast that also includes Peter Krause, Aisha Hinds, Connie Britton, Charles Baker, Oliver Stark, Kenneth Choi and Rockmond Dunbar ‘9-1-1’ will premiere following the debut of the next chapter of THE X-FILES, Wednesday, January 3, 2018 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Entertainment of interest to me is not just a repeat of what you can find elsewhere, but, is inclusive of stories that are not highly publicized as well as ‘old-school’ celebrity news.

I see the glass half-full and strive to be a light in the darkness.
