The Future is Still Human in ‘Philip K Dick’s Electric Dreams’ Sci-Fi Anthology Series (Behind the Scenes) with Janelle Monae

“What is this place? It isn’t supposed to be here.” Amazon’s science-fiction drama anthology series ‘Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams’ is based on the works of award-winning novelist, literary master Phillip K. Dick. Have you ever wanted to be somewhere else? Someone else?  Janelle Monae discusses Philip K. Dick’s lasting impression on science fiction and technology, while portraying a brilliant designer in Episode 1 “Real Life”.

“I understand that you folks are having some issues with our services. How can I help?” The series will consist of ten standalone episodes based on Dick’s work, written by both British and American writers. From 5 to 5000 years in the future, each story in the anthology will question what it means to be human in uniquely ambitious, grounded, yet fantastical worlds.

“You go where nobody goes.” “In my head.” “In your heart.” “I’m just starting to access memories that’s been there all along.” Amazon’s anthology series being executive produced by Bryan Cranston cast members include: Mireille Enos, Steve Buscemi, Greg Kinnear, Rachelle Lefevre, Jacob Vargas, Sam Witwer, Guy Burnet, Timothy Spall, Jack Reynor, Benedict Wong, Anna Paquin and Terrence Howard.

“Do you hear me? Get back here I’m warning you, I’m leaving.” ‘Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams’ premiered on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom on 17 September 2017. The streaming service Amazon Prime launched all 10 episodes of the Sony Pictures Television-produced drama January 12, 2018.

Entertainment of interest to me is not just a repeat of what you can find elsewhere, but, is inclusive of stories that are not highly publicized as well as 'old-school' celebrity news. I see the glass half-full and strive to be a light in the darkness.
