Stomp It Like It’s Hot in Netflix’s Dance Battle Comedy ‘Step Sisters’ (Trailer)

“I can’t teach them my Black card would get revoked.” ‘Step Sisters’ is a fictionalized feature about a step dancing competition. The story line follows Jamilah who seems to have it all. She’s president of her black sorority, captain of the highly regarded step dance team, a trusted liaison to the college dean, and has plans to attend Harvard Law School.

“Are you gonna drown in a pool of White girl tears?” But after her school’s reputation is tarnished by a band of hard-partying white sorority girls, Jamilah is forcibly enlisted to help set things right. She’s tasked with not only teaching these girls how to step dance, but also helping them to win a competitive dance competition.

Stomp it like it’s hot. Directed by Charles Stone III from a screenplay written by Chuck Hayward the comedy takes us inside the world of collegiate step dancing, with one ambitious young woman asked to help out a rival sorority. With a cast that includes Matt McGorry, Naturi Naughton, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Marque Richardson, Eden Sher, Lyndon Smith, Gage Golightly, Nia Jervier, and Alessandra Torresani ‘Step Sisters’ comes to Netflix January 19, 2018.

Ummm, I’m thinking I’ll pass. What do you think?

Entertainment of interest to me is not just a repeat of what you can find elsewhere, but, is inclusive of stories that are not highly publicized as well as 'old-school' celebrity news. I see the glass half-full and strive to be a light in the darkness.
