“Rob would have loved this place.” ‘The Ritual’ follows a group of college friends who reunite for a trip and embark on a hike across a remote part of Sweden for a recently deceased friend. “Look we go southwest through here we cut the journey in half.” “What through the forest?” “Yeah, why not?”
“Now is it me or is it really quiet in here?” “We shouldn’t be here, where the hell are we?” “Did you hear that?” “No, I didn’t hear anything. Things start to turn bad after they decide to take a shortcut through the forest. The deeper they go, the scarier it becomes.
“We should have gone to Vegas.” “So, are we gonna talk about that or not?” “It was a nightmare. We got spooked and we had bad dreams.” The group encounters a menacing presence in the woods that’s stalking them.
“I got cut last night, look at it.” “Nothing has done that to you, you done it to yourself.” In ‘The Ritual’ their darkest dreams await them. Directed by David Bruckner from a screenplay by Joe Barton, based on a novel by Adam Nevill in the trailer, we see the horror and fear that falls upon a group as they are on a hike in memory of their friend. Starring Rafe Spall, Robert James-Collier, and Sam Troughton the horror flick premieres on Netflix February 9, 2018.
