Be Bold, Be Progressive, Be Scandalous, Be True To Yourself in Netflix’s Series ‘Dear White People’ (Vol. 2 Teaser) Premiering May 4

“Don’t we want to come together?” “For some of you coming together means ignoring our experiences.” “Break it down for me?” After the success of his directorial debut Dear White People, writer-director Justin Simien has adapted the movie to a successful Netflix series returning for season 2.

“Dear White People here’s a list of acceptable Halloween costumes: pirates; slutty nurse; any of our first 43 Presidents. Top of the list of unacceptable costumes: me.”  America needs a voice of reason. As with the film, the 10-episode ‘Dear White People’ series follows a diverse group of students at a predominantly white Ivy League college, who navigate various forms of racial and other types of discrimination.

Starring Antoinette Robertson, Brandon P Bell, and Logan Browning the series volume 2 breaks down: Cultural appropriation, sex and gender norms, racist bots, conspiracy theories, Jesus, weed, The Sunken Place and WAY more. Exploring ideas of race and friendship without preaching ‘Dear White People’ volume 2 premieres May 4, 2018 on Netflix.

Thoughts?

About

Entertainment of interest to me is not just a repeat of what you can find elsewhere, but, is inclusive of stories that are not highly publicized as well as 'old-school' celebrity news. I see the glass half-full and strive to be a light in the darkness.
