“This is a warning, not a distress call do not board this ship. Do not bring the Nightflyer back to earth.” Netflix has released their first look at ‘Nightflyers,’ the new horror sci-fi series based on the novella of the same name and the series of short stories by George R.R. Martin’s where we get a glimpse at a crew of space explorers who embark on a mission to find a mysterious alien ship.
‘Nightflyers’ follows eight maverick scientists and a powerful telepath who embark on an expedition to the edge of our solar system aboard The Nightflyer – a ship with a small tightknit crew and a reclusive captain — in the hope of making contact with alien life.
But when terrifying and violent events begin to take place they start to question each other — and surviving the journey proves harder than anyone thought. The Netflix series is based on author George R.R. Martin’s novella and the 1987 film of the same name. Jeff Buhler wrote the adaptation for television and will executive produce alongside Daniel Cerone, who will also serve as showrunner. Martin will also executive produce. With a cast that includes Phillip Rhys, Miranda Raison and Gwynne McElveen ‘Nightflyers’ will come to Netflix in Spring 2018 – an exact date has not been announced, yet.
